✨ What this automation does

This N8N automation helps you uncover product ideas, market gaps, and customer desires by analyzing Reddit conversations at scale. It retrieves top Reddit posts from selected communities, filters and analyzes them using GPT, and outputs clean insight summaries and solution suggestions to a Google Sheet (or your preferred database).

🔧 Requirements

To use this workflow, you’ll need:

• ✅ Reddit Account — to fetch posts via Reddit’s public API
• ✅ OpenAI API Key — for analyzing and summarizing content
• ✅ Google Sheet / Airtable / Notion — to store the output (default is Google Sheets, editable)

🗂️ Automation Breakdown

🟤 1. Data Collection

What it does:

• Fetches recent, popular posts from specified Reddit communities.
• Filters posts by engagement metrics (upvotes/comments) and specific keywords.
• Only keeps content that’s relevant and emotionally charged.

Customizable Fields:

• Subreddit names
• Keyword filters
• Minimum upvote/comment thresholds

🟢 2. Analysis Content

What it does:

• Uses OpenAI to analyze the post content for deeper meaning:
  • What’s the pain/problem?
  • What’s the desire or unmet need?
  • What do people really want but can’t find?

Output:

• Core insight per post (summarized cleanly)
• Tags or context for further segmentation

Customizable Fields:

• OpenAI prompt structure
• Temperature / model settings (GPT-3.5, GPT-4)

🔵 3. Insight Generation and Output

What it does:

• Generates short executive-style summaries for each insight
• Suggests potential product/solution angles
• Merges everything and exports the result to your database

Default Output:

• A single row per Reddit post with 3 columns:
  • Summary of insight
  • Suggested solution
  • Source metadata (subreddit, link, etc.)

📤 Export Options

This template currently uses Google Sheets (via the N8N Google Sheets node).
However, you can easily swap it for:

• 🧾 Notion
• 📊 Airtable
• 🧑‍💻 Webhook → Zapier → Any other tool

🧪 Testing It

You can test the full flow by clicking ▶️ Run or using the Test workflow trigger.
Make sure:

• You’ve added your API keys
• The sheet/database you’re writing to already exists
• Subreddits and keywords are predefined and scoped
